About the Seeds and Markets Project

The Seeds and Markets Project (SAMP), funded by Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and being implemented by GRM International in selected areas of Zimbabwe, Swaziland. The project started in October 2010 and is piloting a range of ‘market based’ interventions which aim at providing key lessons to guide improved policy and seed security strategies for different stakeholders in Southern Africa.

These markets for the poor (M4P) interventions include: contract farming, agro-dealer strengthening, community seed production and seed fares which are designed to facilitate private sector engagement in small holder farming.
